The 2013 NFL Scouting Combine officially kicks off this Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Coaches and fans alike are preparing for what is essentially an audition for NFL prospects to demonstrate their playing abilities before the 2013 draft. Many commentators feel that the 2013 draft will be one of the weakest quarterback drafts since 2007, so much of the attention at this year's combine may be on players in other positions. USC quarterback Matt Barkley, who is considered a possible top quarterback selection for this year's draft, won't even be able to demonstrate his throwing abilities during the combine as he is still recovering from a shoulder injury he sustained last season. However, there will be plenty of other interesting players besides quarterbacks to watch this year. One of the more unusual prospects is defensive end Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah from BYU. Ansah has created a lot of buzz recently since his outstanding performance in the Senior Bowl, where he was named defensive player of the game. Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Ansah has previously tried his hand at track and basketball before settling on football. Weighing 275 pounds and featuring a vertical jump of 39 inches, Ansah is viewed by many scouts as a raw talent with a lot of potential. Marquise Goodwin is another fascinating NFL prospect who will be closely watched as he goes through the various tests and drills. Goodwin is a wide receiver from the University of Texas and a former Olympian long-jumper who finished in tenth place at the London Olympics. Goodwin has a knack for making game-winning touchdowns and could have a breakout performance at this year's combine that could raise his already soaring draft stock even higher. These are just two of the potential future NFL stars that will be showing off their abilities at this year's combine.
