Charlie Batch has been announced as Pittsburgh's starting quarterback, replacing the injured Byron Leftwich. Backup QB Leftwich played for the Steelers in last Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens in lieu of regular QB Ben Roethlisberger, who is still out with shoulder and rib injuries. Leftwich sustained his injury during the first quarter of the game against Baltimore, but remained until the end. It was later determined that Leftwich had two fractured ribs and a minor shoulder injury. After the first-quarter hit, Leftwich was seen wincing in pain when attempting to throw the ball, although he still completed 18 of 39 passes for a total of 201 yards. Replacement QB Charlie Batch will be Pittsburgh's third quarterback in as many weeks.
