Carolina Panthers

Game Preview: Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Carolina Panthers (1-1) will play their third game of the regular season when they host the Minnesota Vikings (2-0) at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. Both teams are coming off wins in Week 2 of the season, with the Panthers having defeated the 49ers 46-27, and the Vikings having beaten the Packers, 17-14. The Panthers will be led by veteran quarterback Cam Newton (of course), while quarterback Sam Bradford will be making his second start for the Vikings after replacing the injured Teddy Bridgewater. As far as injuries, Carolina’s offense will be missing RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring). Cameron Artis-Payne is expected to take over his lead role against the Vikings. On the Vikings’ side, RB Adrian Peterson’s status is still uncertain after he went down with a knee injury during his team’s win over the Packers last Sunday. However, as Panthers LB Luke Kuechly noted during a recent interview, “I don’t really know what the severity of [his injury] is but he’s a stud, he’s a physical [running] back. Last time we played them [the Vikings], they didn’t have him, and they beat us. One guy doesn’t make a team…Regardless if Adrian Peterson plays or not, we’ve got to make sure we’re in our gaps.” The Panthers-Vikings game kicks off at 1:00 PM Eastern on Sunday.
