RB Arian Foster Leads Houston Texans to Victory Over Titans

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster led his team to a dominant 30-16 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at LP Field. Foster rushed for 151 yards on 20 carries, including two touchdowns in the second and third quarters. He also caught a five-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the third quarter. This is the fourth consecutive game and the sixth time this season that the veteran running back has topped 100 rushing yards. The blowout win ended a three-game losing streak for the Texans, who most recently lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Monday Night Football showdown last week. On the other side, Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger struggled in his first start since QB Jake Locker was benched last week. Although the rookie quarterback achieved 299 yards passing and two touchdowns, he also turned over the ball twice, first after throwing a pass that was intercepted by Texans safety D.J. Swearinger, and a second time after defensive end J.J. Watt forced a fumble. After he sacked Mettenberger for the second time, Watt mimed taking a selfie, a gesture he explained in a postgame press conference. “Their quarterback had posted a few selfies this week, including one before the game,” noted Watt. “It’s just kind of a reminder: this is the National Football League -- not high school. So, welcome to the show.” This was the sixth game that the Titans have lost this season and their third loss at home. Meanwhile, the Texans will enter their next game against the Philadelphia Eagles at NRG Stadium next Sunday with an even 4-4 record, before they head into their bye week in Week 10.
