Outspoken Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman continues to exchange Twitter barbs with fellow CB Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets in an argument over who is the best cornerback in the league. Reportedly the dispute kicked off on Wednesday this week when Sherman failed to include Revis in a list of his top NFL cornerbacks. Despite playing only two games last season, many commentators and fans consider Revis to be the most effective cornerback in the league. However, Revis spent most of the 2012 season on the injured reserve roster after tearing his ACL in a game against the Miami Dolphins last September. In the meantime, Seahawks CB Richard Sherman began racking up his own impressive statistics, including 64 tackles and 8 interceptions in last year's season. The Seahawks also qualified for the playoffs last year but eventually lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the divisional round. Are you ready for the 2013 season of Seahawks football? Seahawks CB Richard Sherman took issue with what he characterized as Revis' "disrespectful" tone and tweeted that he had "8 picks 3 ff and a sack" last season, adding that "(m)y season stats looking like Revis career stats." Today, Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider contributed his own two-cents to the war of words, commenting that Sherman "feels he's the best corner in the league...God bless him." Whether or not you believe Sherman is winning the battle for the title of best NFL cornerback, it certainly seems that he is winning in his effort to irritate Jets CB Darrelle Revis. Perhaps that was the point all along.
