Seahawks Demolish 49ers, 42-13

The Seattle Seahawks delivered an early holiday present to their fans last night at CenturyLink Field when they steamrolled over the San Francisco 49ers 42-13. Last night's blowout was Seattle's 10th win of the season and guarantees them a playoff spot. Rookie Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw a career-high four touchdown passes and completed 15 of 21 attempted passes for 171 yards. Wilson is now in second-place behind Peyton Manning for the rookie record of 26 touchdown passes. RB Marshawn Lynch also had a stellar game, rushing for 111 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that started the scoring for Seattle. Along with their two previous blowout wins over the Bills and the Cardinals, the Seahawks have now scored a total of 150 points against their last three opponents who together have only managed to score a total of 30 points against them. Although it is likely that the Seahawks will end up with a wildcard berth in the NFC, there is still a possibility that they could clinch the NFC West division. However, this possibility would entail the Seahawks beating the Rams next Sunday, as well as a Cardinals victory over the 49ers at Candlestick Park. This seems unlikely, since the 49ers have already beaten the Cardinals 24-3, in Week 8 of the season. Are you looking for quality tickets to the next Seattle Seahawks game? Although the Seahawks took an early lead with two touchdowns in the first quarter, the watershed moment of the game came in the second quarter, when DE Red Bryant batted down 49ers kicker David Aker's 21-yard field goal attempt. Seahawks CB Richard Sherman scooped up the ball and returned it 90 yards for Seattle's third unanswered touchdown, making the score 21-0. San Francisco managed to finally put up some points with a set of Aker's field goals, but a short 6-yard Wilson pass to TE Anthony McCoy made the score 28-6 at the halftime. This win snaps the Seahawks three-game losing streak against their divisional rivals and more than makes up for Seattle's 13-6 loss to San Francisco in Week 7 of the season.
