Tennessee Titans Set to Acquire RB DeMarco Murray From Eagles

The Tennessee Titans are close to finalizing a deal that would allow them to acquire running back DeMarco Murray from the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal, which was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, was also later confirmed via Twitter by Murray’s agency. The two-time Pro Bowler is expected to be a major asset to Tennessee Titans, who are currently in rebuilding mode under the leadership of new general manager Jon Robinson. Murray was with the Eagles for only one season, after he was picked up in free agency last offseason. However, following the dismissal of former Philadelphia head coach Chip Kelly, the Eagles have also been overhauling their lineup. While Murray had a breakout season with the Cowboys in 2014 with 1,845-yards and 12 games with over 100 yards rushing, he failed to live up to expectations in Philadelphia, where he finished the season with a total of 702 yards and only one 100-yard plus game.

However, most commentators believe that his production was limited by Kelly’s style of offense. Assuming the trade is finalized when the new league year begins on Wednesday, DeMarco Murray could prove to be a key component of the Titans’ offensive line going forward.
